Today I got my cert to say I can do Solar PV.

Only took 4 months to get it to me.

Just a shame the market has gone now.

Philbas from what I heard the solar PV generation

target set by the European Union was reached by

this country last year. This may explain why the

FIT (Feed in tariff) was cut by 50% prematurely

last year, which led, as you know, to a judicial

review.

I think that the market will come back when new

targets are set. Until then we can expect, I am

sure, a lot of fits and starts. (sorry for the pun).

In the meantime well done:Applaud

1/ Well done for getting it:Salute

2/ Not much help but..

Try thinking of the glass half full rather than half empty...

The solar PV market will NOT be disappearing all together..

Just businesses will not be able to make such big returns off their investment...

Ultimately once all the who-har finally settles..

there will still be customers wanting green energy systems installed and maintained.

From a pure business perspective..

how much time and money have you invested so far..

and how long will it take to recoup your investment?

:|

As long as it is feasible to recoup your costs over a period of time..

then you haven't made a loss...

(just not as much as you may have hoped.)

I think of it this way.

No big money left in it anymore, all big companies fold and move onto the next thing. Means the work that does turn up is left for the smaller firms that have lower overheads and lower general cost, so can still make good money at it. We will have to see though.
