anyone care to suggest a decent ROM for an Android?

I ran Ginger Villian on my HTC Desire for a while, it went faulty the other week and I couldn't flash it back as my SD card slot had gone faulty

Thankfully though I got it replaced under warranty,,,, this one's staying stock (for the moment)

What are you wanting to do that requires a different ROM??

Currently using CyangenMod on my desire z. Also used it on wifes old xperia X10 mini pro. Deffo improved things. It comes with adw launcher as default. But I then install nexus launcher. Again, very good.

Looked at cyangenmod, doesnt it have issues with tethering? or is that sorted now?

Not sure per your device (as cm issues tend to be device specific) but I regularly tether both via wifi and usb. No problems at all.

can a network provider supplied sim unlock code be used on a rooted phone?

Hi,

I'm using Cyanogenmod now more then 2 years ago.

It worth to try other roms, but for me cyanogen was the most comfortable

(on htc desire)

never ceases to amaze me what people fiddle with

so how much better than standard is using stuff like Cyranogenmod?

the standard stuff is rubbish binky,

slow and laggy. :|
