One of my mates has an I phone, and lately it's been driving him daft, it's started telling him things, like the other day we were sat in the canteen when it announced, " your vehicle is 500 mtrs away". It all started about a fortnight ago, he goes to his girlfriend, Linda's house at 6 pm each night, she lives about 5 miles from him, he was sat eating his tea when it announced, "you are 10 minute's from Linda's and it's 6 10 pm".
He's obviously pressed something in the settings, but it's got him paranoid, he thinks he's being watched. Mind you, you have to watch things these days, my laptop runs windows 10, one day it suddenly decided to start uploading my photo's to the cloud, then it started rooting through them and creating albums based on the images, it took several pictures from different folders, each picture having a similar content, e.g cars, and sticking them together in a new album, fortunately the 'private' pics are not stored on the machine, lol.
There's one really annoying thing on my phone and it keeps asking to record calls, or track location or access phone book and stuff like that, some people might like everything connected to everything else, so it will tell you that John is in Cornwall, or Steve has just farted, but I don't! If I want it to do something I'll tell it, I've enough trouble with idiot people doing things I don't want them too, without my electronics doing it.

There’s a reason why many celebs are ditching smartphones and going back to either a basic phone or no phone at all?? Most report that the quality of their lives improved also??
you have to remember, all these free to use services have to be paid for, so you are the commodity and Google makes money by selling info about you and your habits.

Another thing you have to be careful of is when you get rid of the damned things, doing a factory reset does not get rid of all your info, I was watching a police programme and they showed a forensic data recovery bloke getting info off a criminals phone, even though he'd reset it.
I decided to have a play and downloaded a free version off the internet, within a couple of minutes I had brought up all of the info from day one (2 years ago), now ok the free version was somewhat limited in what it would allow you to do, you had to buy it to get full functionality, but it did show me some stuff, even down to the fact that there had been several thousand texts sent, it also gave me some, but not all, of the calls made, and other stuff.
It's scary thinking of the possibilities, because IIRC, the paid version of this software was less than £30,imagine the personal stuff you could extract from phones with that, after all, a lot of people keep bank details etc on theirs.
I don't do any financial transactions on my phone, just in case I lose the phone - too easy to access data.
Something else that puzzles me now on the Big Brother theme . I'm on Facebook but basically only post to my mad niece , whenever I log in theres a great long list of "Friends " on there ....none of whom are known to me . Except for yesterday when the names of my neighbour opposite , Carpenter /Builder and his son Ade erstwhile apprentice with yours truly. Now why would that happen ? I sometimes work with said carpenter , Apprentice is now with a metering /data processing firm , we talk , we send the odd text , occasional phone call ....how do they appear on my Facebook page?

Who is it ? Mr Google , Mr Microsoft , Mr Facebook , link this with the realisation that my new phone ...( Did I mention that ?) ..tracks & records all it's travel movements .
Let me peek outside , see if theres a car with a couple of heavies dressed in raincoats , trilby hats & packing heat out there .
I know , I'll post my phone to Prodave in Scotland , post a picture of Ben Nevis on Faceache , " Top of the world Ma !! " Google will record that I'm up there , I 'll buy another one down here , a burner , fit false plates to the car , yes they'll never find me ....now then ..who's that outside ..Ah nextdoor's cat ... he could have a collarcam on ...he 's watching the house ... why do his eyes shine in the dark ...he's working for them ! ... he's wearing a trilby...

Incidentally, talking about phones, does anyone remember the guy who found a photo of his young daughter on one of those google type image search things? You know the ones, you type in a search term, say 'dogs' and it brings up loads of pictures of dogs, well he was looking for a picture and this one came up of his young daughter on a beach, it was one he'd took on holiday a couple of years earlier. He asked how come in was on the internet and was told that it was in the terms of use for the cloud storage, after so long they can use your pictures, bit bad if you've got any naughty ones of your missus on there, or even worse your girlfriend. lol

Pipes! that has to be it, Electrical, Electronic, Telecommunication and Plumbers, the connection has to be pipes, or ducts, which are a form of pipe, either way it's enough of a tenuous connection if you're half PI55ed and looking for another trade to allow into your union I suppose. lol
Interesting , as I inserted the photo card from my old phone , it shows them but any new ones taken go into the cloud , I 'm still trying to make them save onto the card .
I think the dictionary definition of "Conduit" is a duct to convey water . Thats what it was. Also doubled their bargaining power I 'spose.
INteresting about those Elecsa things you have in the house , they listen to what you are saying ...and report back to the NICEIC !!!

Whatever you do, get away from the cloud, it'll start doing all kinds of stupid stuff like rummaging through your pictures and creating all these mad albums that you don't want and have no control of. if I remember correctly there's something in the settings and you turn of I think it's called 'I drive' at least that's what it's called on mine.
Ahh right, so they said if we let them into our union they wouldn't connect our conduits up to their water mains, sounds like blackmail to me, lol
