Another sad loss of 2016

RIP Frank Kelly aka Father Jack. 

Spent many a Sunday evening in stitches watching him.

Very sad.....the man who caused a thousand swear filters to go into overdrive for a word that was only offensive in the minds of the 'feeble minded'

why on earth would the Gaelic for 'get' be considered offensive?

so,in tribute to Father Ted and Father Jack

Sadly missed, 

There is a very good point, you can't swear in Gaelic,  or any other Keltic (yes, K and C are the same letter, both hard) language for that matter, they don't contain any 'swear' words, 

Maybe no language does, and it's just the fact that some treehugger finds a word not to their liking then it becomes offensive and they deem it a swear word,

Btw, I've used the F word in court and after being told I would be in contempt I explained myself, case was put on hold while the judge sought guidance, he came back and said that whilst it 'was only' an opinion as to what constitutes a swear word he would thank me to refrain from using it further as it might upset some of the jury. 

It's not illegal to use a word that others may take offence from, it is, however, to use any word in a threatening manner.
