Anti Tamper Consumer Units

Hi guys, as the title suggests I need a single phase metal CU with a lock.

I have seen loads of 3phase db's that lock but have seldom come across, any single phase units.

If anyone knows of any could they let me know.

The cu is to be placed in a high risk area, and must be protected from unauthorised use.

There is no ip requirement, just anti tamper.

I have thought of placing it inside another enclosure, similar to the data boxes with glass front, but I want to keep the costs down as much as possible.

what about a metalclad CU with a lock/hasp?

cant think of any which come complete with lock

I did think of that, or making a full enclosure/cabinet with lockable door.

I will have to weigh up my options.

Merlin Gerin certainly used to do one, but at their prices it would probably be cheaper the fit a standard unit in a safe!

how anti tamper GH?

i.e as said merlin have a single with the lock just as 3ph db's but a screwdriver will force it open ultra easily.

if more security needed mount a std cu in a beefy steel enclosure

I have done a lttle research and found out that all ther doors on the metal cu's can in fact take a lock (Merlin Gerin).

As the main db is of the same make I think I will go with that anyway.

The locks are sold as an option.

MEM type As, i believe you can take out the grey plastic catch and replace with a lock from MEM. Works on the type Bs so i assume will the same on the type As, as they are the same animal.
