I have taken a screen shot  ( Don't laff)     This has started to pop up , I don't open it I just delete  but it keeps returning . 

Is something dreadful likely to happen if I follow the instructions?  

Or can I kick it into touch somehow ?

What has probably happened is one of your shortcuts on the browser or an application that is accessing the web for updates ect has the setting https:// as opposed to http://.

Note the missing "s".

The program or shortcut is trying to open a site with the secure "s" whilst the site does not have a security certificate.

Find the culprit and remove the "s" from the address.

It mentions the certificate is out of date. the only time I have had that has been when the PC has crashed and in the process the date on the computer reset to 2000 or there abouts. Check your  date and time is set correctly.

If you click "View Certificate" it might give a better idea of what is actually causing the popup to appear.

I didn't want to click on it .    How do I know if its genuine or not ?  I did crash the PC on purpose when the missus opened  the pop up on Facebook about someone dying .

Edit:   All Firewalls & Security systems are in place          (  Blimey  I've entered an episode of Star Trek  )

Ah  now that may be an option  , let me look at that , thank you .

It would appear that it is something to do with some BT Desktop Help software. I can;t imagine it is of much use, I would just remove it and that should solve the nuisance message issue.

OK  Sharpie  ,  I just uninstalled BT Desktop Help.   I think they were shutting it down anyway now I come to think about it.   Lets see what happens.

Well my original Broadband was Orange  , now that was a nightmare , so changing to BT  was a good step up TBH  .   It actually functions for a start .    How it compares to others I don't know .

My missus has been on the recall list since last year, 

She was told then something like 250,000 recalled and only a couple of thousand replacement bits available,,,  

The car will be in the scrappy before it gets sorted I'd imagine,
