Be advised:

This hasn`t happened for 50,000 years, and won`t be seen again in any of our lifetimes!

Mars (due to its orbit being affected by Jupiter) will come quite close to the Earth this month - by the 27th, it will be rising at sunset, at be at its zenith at 12.30 a.m. Other than the moon, it will be the brightest object in the sky; and will appear the same size as the moon!

All we need now are some clear nights ray

(and a biiiiiiiiiig lens for the SLR - if anyone has an 800mm lens, you can get a very good shot of it!)

Next (possible) occurence isn`t until 2237 (or something)

Thought you may want to see this once-in-a-lifetime phenomenon

Utter rubbish mate.

Since they are about the same size physical size it would have to be about as close as the moon and if it was that close it would cause untold tidal stress on the earth (possibly tearing it apart).

Mars was at its closest in 2003 when it would have been the brightest and best observed.
