I don't really give a TO*S about my reputation really on an Internet forum.

I have immense respect for Admin & Admin2 for the personal sacrifice that has been put into this forum.

I appreciate the thanks I am given & the Scoobs are a nice feeling when they are given.

I participate on here because I find it generally a friendly place.

I don't have to, I choose to, I don't need to I choose to.

I can prove my competence in a court of law, and there may be a time when I am the other side of the bar to one of you acting as an expert witness, as long as I can't identify you from here as that situation would be sub judice.

However, if that were not the case then lord help some of the posters on here because I would hang you out to dry and would press for a prison sentence if I were in a position to do so as the expert witness to the prosecution council.

There were posts on this forum this morning which I now cannot find, & I was not on much last night & I will not be here much tonight as I have work to do.

I cannot find these posts now, however, IIRC they concern me.

There seemed to be a situation where members were acting out of spite against others.

THIS IS NOT HOW THIS FORUM WORKS, IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT, * OFF.

Admin, I am not going to apologise for the above.

IF you are going to be spiteful or abusive then you are not welcome.

Admin cannot say that, I can, and if he bans me then so be it.

If you are going to act like a 3 yr old then behave like one and don't participate in an electrical Internet forum where as a 3 yr old you don't have enough education or experience to add a competent comment.

IF a post is judged as wrong, or not useful by one member then it is their prerogative to de-scoob or groan as they see fit.

IMHO it is NOT acceptable to remove or descoob that member for their opinion out of spite.

This is childish and reminiscent of other forums that apparently exist on the Internet.

I'm going now and may not post again tonight or ever depending on what the Mods & Admin think of my outburst.

TBH if people are going to start acting out of spite I'm not sure if I want to be part of such an "institution" as that is just childish, immature and any other synonym you can think of that is appropriate.

Apologies to Admin & Admin2, but this wonderful Internet place is going to pot because of a few idiots who really do not appear to be competent based on the advice given in their posts.

i agree with everything sidewinder has said in his post and would like to add, i too get very concerened with the manner at which some of our newer members of this forum show to the loyal and older members who have shown a great deal of expertise in the industry on here and so far have given up immense amounts of time to do this. It is such a shame that when certain members of a forum come on here either trying to cause trouble, or even ad mouth individual members who have a lot more knowledge than a group of members newbies put together no wonder this industry is a concern to decent sparks rant over!

Not sure whats been going on hope its not something I have said. Anyway I have been posting more or less since forum started. Members come and go some come go away for a bit then come back. It is an open forum open to everbody so somethings may upset some members but life is like that. I agree there is no need for real nastiness and I really think there is no need for swearing although if something really gets my goat I will dot out the whole word after all most people do swear in the real world. I personally try not to be nasty but if a member does get my goat I will say so. A while back the chap with his self build got my goat which is not normal but thats life luckily he is not around at the moment and hopefully he will get a proper electrician to wire his new build. A few members are taking things a little far at the moment not sure why but Admin and the moderators will soon put a stop to it if something is wrong. This is a great forum we should all enjoy it.

I couldnt honestly give two sh1ts about who wants to berate me, cos its obviously someone with an inferiority complex or who simply doesnt understand how not to kill someone.

the rest of you just laff at my opinions and let me rave about my TT and DP RCBOs.

Albert, Batty, ExBDC - it wasn`t anything connected to you guys; and it doesn`t need to be brought up here...........

Many of the regulars have a "quirk" to their posting style; myself included. Occasionally someone will decide they "don`t get on" with another member, and things escalate from there.

I hope the issue has been laid to rest now.....

Points noted. As always, we do our best to keep the forum running how we all prefer it to be run. But as membership numbers increase and post rates increase it can be difficult and time consuming to keep up with all threads & post. Obviously there is an element of 'self moderation' by the input and reply that any member can make to topics as they so wish. Features such as 'reputation', 'thanks', 'groan', 'report post' all assist with identifying valued contributors and unhelpful contributors. I can only ask that we all continue to use the forum and enjoy the content in the manner to which is was originally intended. Many of you have a wealth of valued experience which the forum is very grateful that you are willing to share. You are all free to come and go, post or just read as you please. Be assured your contributions are appreciated and never taken for granted.

As Admin2 says 12,000+ if you look at the bottom of the home page http://www.talk.electricianforum.co.uk/index.php there is a box with statistic, as well as members, it list the counts for threads and posts. Clearly, with over 164,000 posts, I doubt that every post has been looked at by a moderator, so your assistance ladies and gents is not just valued, but most probably essential!

Well....i would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the members on this forum who continually help, advise and discuss problems and come up with solutions to help us all out.

I for one aknowledge that none of you need to do this (you do all run businesses afterall)and help lesser mortals such as myself who have strived to do things the right way, spent years at college, tried to gain work experience with a contractor, studied, researched and invested in guidance notes, tools and test equipment etc.

However i understand that I still have got a long way to go to know the answer to every different scenario and try to limit what I do so as not to cause danger to others, as i want to be proud of what I achieve and also have a conscience and not just in this game for the money, but because I enjoy it (well most of the time) and like offering a good service.

So I would hate to see any of the members such as Sidewinder who are valued and respected on this forum not to participate due to certain posts/posters that have disgruntled him.

BTW that's not just because I want your advice/information, but after being on this forum for quite a long time you get used to seeing the different members and it is a good social forum where you can discuss anything and made to feel welcome like close friends.

Having recently had my first kind of ding dong (well resolved in good spirt) i can tell you i did not enjoy it in the least, I think everyone should be respectfull to all while still making their thoughts known.

It would be a real shame to loose really experianced, well respected posters because of the actions of a few.
