Hello, Will a Solax Hybrid inverter charge a battery using mains grid supply only ie we do not have Solar PV?
Also, will a Solax X1-BOOST inverter do the same?

I think the X1 does, but check their website for AC battery inverters. I seem to remember they describe them as retrofit.
The Solax X1 Boost 3.0; 3.6KW are for Solar without battery; G98 or G99 for Solax X1 Boost for Solar PV plus Solax X1 AC for battery storage.
The Hybrid inverters have lower stats for battery use, power out for home use... read the pdf's for relevant data.
