Baxi Solo 3 PFL 50 S-plan pump runs forever! (overruns)

The pump overrun is so that the residual heat is taken away from the heat exchanger to prolong its life. On the baxi its states on the terminal that its 'optional' but yes normally the boiler will lock out if the pump isnt connected via the boiler on other brands. Was that a lead and lag style system then or were they on together? I have done a few like that, keeps you on your toes!

sorry for being thick, but am not sure what pump is running on, is it the internal re-circ pump in the boiler or the external pump. because these are two different faults with two different solutions.
