Yes Kate Winslet clung to it until rescued. :)

First firm I was with had those big heavy pipe vices for threading only, and the bending block for sets. They were total pants, when I moved on they had proper vice/benders, so much easier.

Thats what we used, it had a sink kind of basin in the bottom with a pump to recycle the cutting fluid. They were too big and bulky not really mobile:(

The bender on it was manual and very hard to pull down (I am only 5ft 4")Blushing

I'd agree to save on cost go with the bending block. That's all we had when I were a lad. It is a bit of an art, but fine for doin sets and most times you can use inspection bends for your 90 degree's anyway.

Depends really, you might want a m/c if you expect to do a lot, or you think an employer might expect you to know how to use one! Guiness Drink

you won't bend 25mm class4 hd galv. with a bending block it's hard enough on a hillmor bender

yours benji

god now you are showing your age i thought the only one to remember that i still use that method on very small

jobs
Cheeky Tart

Remeber plastic wasn't availible when I started and there were no trousers with knee pads in OK i may be an elderly fart, but it still got the job done.

As for galvanised conduit you can still do it with a section of a timber pallet. 3 years ago last time, linking onto 4 compartment trunking with 4 core FP in 25 mm.

Many goverment buildings this is the spec.

As stated I am no longer supposed to use the tools (project manager)advise and make sure the job is done.

Sometimes you have to demonstrate so you can go home.

Yes I was a member of the ETU then EETPU power to the members.Unite you stand.

Times have changed when one company can hire 25 sparks?

From an other country with one chargehand, and they can do the install (industrial)

workmanship was poor, apprentices would have learnt on this contact and done a better job.

Any way soap box is out on hire everyone is good at their particular job.

I will not do part P as it proves nothing.

Whinge ov
