I used TLC to get some Contactum MCBs recently, very efficient, prompt delivery. I'm in the Midlands but I don't think they have branches up here . Dunno how you'd get on for cable or conduit though !!

I ordered 45m of 6mm 3core swa a few years back

got a call from Crawley office stating they were sending it straight from cable supplier and would take an extra day

2 days later big truck with my small reel of cable no problem the driver said

i had a problem with a miss picked order aswell,, phoned them only to have a warehouse guy pass the ringing phone picked it up and said all the office staff had gone,,,,,,,,,,,,,he took my details and 9 am next day i got a call,,,following day all sorted

cant fault them

i like that discount have cable prices up and not poa i might give these a shot.fyi to use elecfix you have to be a member of nic elecsa etc

not saying that i have O) ... but it is possible to blag being a member of electricfix without being a member of anything, get the catalog sent to you, call them - giving screwfix quote numbers and get electricfix prices.

its always best to build a relationship with a local supplier that you can go in and talk to for the best prices imo. 60% discount minimum for trade if you go to a wholesaler.

only problem is getting that discount online. i've used one or two when looking for special items. i would expect next day delivery from most places online uk based. tlc-direct, gil-lec and rbstaronline are ok.

i think end of day the old 'Time is money' saying is true. if you ain't got the time to travel i think your going to pay more.
