does it say on the side or the rcd? as i used one today saying bsen 1361 type 2 but some one said that is not a rcd ?

Most modern Rcd Should be to Bsen 61008 Rcbo's to Bsen 61009 not all will have it written on them but generally it will be in the instructions supplied with it or manufacture will tell you or it will be on there website. Older Rcd's will be to a different standard Bs4293.

1361 refers to cartridge fuses. Type 2 used to refer to MCBs.
