Hi Guys,

What do you use to build your own website?

I have been looking at "Dreamweaver" but there are so many different ones, all of which are expensive.

It needs to be 'Easy To use' for beginers.

Thanks for your input.

:)

i use dream weaver and front page.

very easy to do the simple stuff, and if you want to go that bit extra use the flash 8 and fireworks.

they all work hand in hand.

It's quite old but I have a copy of MS Frontpage

Never made a new one but learning to use it to edit website at work

Although I like the look of Flash, I would not put them on my website. :(

Thanks Badge, But I am talking building one from scratch mate, HTML, CSS, etc. :D

A challenge. :D

if i had a choice i would go for php .. looks the nuts.. but so hard to do.

dreamweaver is easy to use/start with.

But will continue to support you through the most complex web sites.

Yes it is expensive but there are ways to download "evaluations"

I have been using dreamweaver for years now and would recommend it any time.

PHP....nah, way too hard to learn for a the odd website. ASP.... now your talking. Much easier, especially for a VB'er like myself.

To write the pages I use ... ... NOTEPAD! Very flexible, supports all languages and css. lol.

BTW word is a no no as it adds loads of formatting shat unless you save in plain txt in which case you might as well use notepad.

I heard it called somethings but never heard it called that from the sites you can download from:^O:^O:^O:^O:^O:^O:^O

I keep my site deliberately basic.

May fancy it up a bit, but if clients see a facny website they think - snazzy website = must cost a fortune > they may be costly

My site is done on word and does me. It's all about customer perception.

If I were a web design company then a snazzy website is a must. For an electrician then it is not essential

For anyone without a website I would suggest you buy your domain names (even if you do not have a website)

you probably cant get more basic than mine... all it has is a few phone numbers and email and a 'under construction' notice. if people do look at the site, i hope they dont think i do electrical work as slow!
