Hi

My first poper post!

I will be helping a friend do an armoured run to his workshop and garage. I'm placing a waterproof box where the run will separarte to run to each building. The box will have 1 cable in and 2 going out to split the supply to the 2 buildings. I suspect I will need special glands for the job if they are to be buried underground?

Can you help me!

Any advice appeciated

Rob

or a split resin joint,

how big are the SWA's?

for the bigger sizes I prefer resin joints, but smaller sizes are far easier to do in a pratley box, as Manator says,

for me that would deffo be anything 6mm or under, perhaps even 10mm.

Burying any boxes is not good, a proper underground joint is the way to go, a box on side of shed etc is better if you have to use box

I personally prefer resin joints to underground connection boxes, it's swings and roundabouts though. Resin joints usually work out cheaper and faster for us but pratley boxes allow access at a later date. I think the best solution by far is two completely separate cables entirely but I'm assuming it's a long run and the joint is to save money on the cabling.
