Send me a PM with a real email address and I'll send you a copy of the business plan I did in 2003 for my start up grant.

But keep it small , as in , don't go renting an office or a unit , not at first anyway.

Work from home .

Van (with livery)

Advertise in local press and the Yells.

Letter headed A4 for invoices etc

Business cards from Prontaprint .

Don't employ anyone .

Avoid CIS tax scheme if possible.

Build up contacts. ( its all about who you know)

Don'trust builders unless you've worked with them for 50 years or more.

If its Domestic work, don't register for VAT unless you have to .

If its Commercial / Industrial it doesn't matter.

Don't buy any stock unless you have a job for it .

Theres a lot of Electricians about and not much work so , best of luck!!

Sit down and work out a reasonable hourly rate to charge (no good asking us ,we don't know your circumstances.)

There are threads on here about all that . look for Spec. Locs posts. He talks sense......occasionally.

Its a start of cost that never gets qouted, what will you live on for the first month or two?, dont except to be payed in a hurry
