Would EDF be "obliged" to come out and change the tails from the incomer fuse to their meter with the core showing through the insulation like this in the photo? Appreciate it's on the neutral (but it's been known for them to get the L & N the wrong way round!). Assuming they give me some nice new brown and blue tails I could have the Wylex isolator in place as well for when they come!

you could try it, but they may just stick it further into the terminal so there isnt any exposed copper

Should this "messy" earthing detail on the incoming cable concern me? Looking closer and it appears like and additional piece of cable that's been wrapped around and soldered as opposed to the armoured strands being neatly twisted together and put in the block! I have the DNO coming in to do a disconnect / reconnect shortly so if an issue could take it up with them. I was concerned with the long term mechanical stability of it. Thanks.

its simply a sweated joint, and if the reading is ok its perfectly fine
