Took the 17th today and passed (yey). Talking to my boss about the exam, he warned me there would be a question on dodgems. lo and behold - a question about dodgems appeared.

I know that the regs have a nice, shiny new section about fairgrounds, but WHY does something most of us will N E V E R have to deal with professionally make up 1 of the 30 questions?? Surely there are things we all have to deal with that should be asked??

But should you?

How do dogems work anyways? Do they feed from the grid above or are the sparks for effect?

Nah - the "Fair-folk" as Enid Blyton called them would have your test kit away within seconds, plus the wheels three seconds after that.

Are we allowed to say that??

Actually wouldn't have minded being asked that one, as it was one of the questions I got badly wrong in the practice session and it was still fresh in my mind. mind you, several hours (and several tinnies later) i've forgotten already! Was it something like 1m above highest water level of the waves unless it was Thursday?

What happens about people living in ground floor flats in Tewkesbury where flooding is now the norm? Would we have to fail their house on a periodic because in addition to living below expected waterline they actually HAVE sockets??

You have to install ALL sockets on floating pontoons! :^O:p

We thought the answer would probably be to cut of all supply to downstairs flats and run trailing leads from upstairs flat to fixtures and appliances with an IP rating suitable for immersion. Can you get an IP rated dishwasher??
