Hi All

On inspection of any ccu am i to understand that it should be noted on the test sheet that the tails should be 25mm obviously most installs that are a little old will have 16mm or less so should this be noted as undersized incoming tails.

Also regarding searching for the main water bond if it is there but cant be found ie behind cupboards how far do we go and how is it noted on the test sheet.

Thanks All

Are you talking about a PIR??

You can get away with 16mm tails if the main fuse is 60A or 80A... 100A require 25mm.

As for the PEB to the water... note as measured, but not visually verified as a code 3 on the cert

To Quote from page 17 on site guide

Polarity should be indicated by the colour of the insulation and the minimum cable size should be 25mm

Ok so if i go into a property and am looking at a 1361 type 2 100amp and looking into the ccu find 16mm tails i would therefor be in the right position to give that a code 4 undersized supply condutors as the recommendations for a 100amp should be 25mm tails

What do you think

Just cos the fuse holder says 100A doesn't mean it is. If you look at the old wheal type meters they are rated at 80A, and fuse should be rated to protect meter. You really need to pull main fuse and inspect, even if we are not meant to :innocent

I would recommend 25mm tails anyway as the fuse could get replaced with a 100A in the future if its not already.
