Hi all

I have a seplos battery connected to a solis inverter (RAI-3K-48ES-5G)
, I use this just to charge overnight then run the house during the day. I do not have PV.

The system has worked flawlessly for 2 years but a few weeks ago just stopped. No alarm messages on the battery or the inverter.

The battery is communicating just fine, the grid and load data is valid. There’s literally nothing that I can see that isn’t working. Solis haven’t been able to help and since it isn’t a recognised battery they aren’t inclined to put much effort in.

Can anyone suggest anything?

Do you have the seplos battery monitor software installed so you can see what the bms is doing or not? https://www.seplos.com/download.html

My battery make is also not on the Solis approved list. I just looked up the battery characteristics of those that were approved and told the inverter I had that make of battery attached & its been fine since install.

Are you able to via Soliscloud app adjust any battery charge or discharge current settings and times? Or via the front panel directly on the inverter? Set it to charge in say 2 mins time and sit and watch the inverter screen for the resultant charging message.

Interesting, looks like a software glitch. Apart from what Oldman22 has suggested, you could also try a full reboot - read manuals first. That would include isolating the battery, for which there should be an isolator. It might also be worth checking if you have automatic software updates enabled.

It does seem like a software issue but according to solis no updates took place when it stopped working.

I have a sneaking suspicion it is related to the Acrel meter so I’m going to run the ct clamp over instead to see if that helps.

I have tried a few resets, by isolating both AC and DC supplies to no avail.

Hi

Yes I did the same. Set the inverter to pylon and the battery to GINL, and it’s worked fine for 2 years.

Unfortunately at the scheduled charge time, nothing happens.
