Thanks for all the replies. I went to PC world expecting a fight but their response was good. I was well dressed and polite which I think always helped. I simply stated I wasnt happy as the sound was poor. He said something about normally accepting boxed sealed items back within 28 days. He agreed that the sound was poor on these TVs so I said that meant I could use the fit for purpose argument. I couldnt find an alternative in the shop so they gave me a 100% refund with no hassles at all.

Well, if my memory serves me correctly, I seem to recall your goodself mentioning an intermittent fault [darned intermittent faults, never there when you want them to be] regarding the sound and that you would be happier with a slightly better AND more reliable model.............. :innocent ................... :coat

dunno about that Kerch.. anyway, the tv in question was a 22" combo which I was using in the Gym, my wife uses a 26" Cello model in the back room as a 2nd TV so I have now bought a 32" sanyo with DVD from Amazon and I get the 26" for the gym - everyones a winner!
