Hi all,

Im need help, havnt got a clue where electrics concerned.

To put you in the picture, turned dining room ceiling light on this morning which blew.

I went to the fuse box to check it as none of the other ceiling lights were working and to my surprise the switch hadnt tripped for the lights

Now everytime we turn a ceiling light on some of the lights come on really dim, some dont come on at all, but every switch in the house turns on one of our kitchen lights again very dim

Whats going on here and how do i rectify?

What recent work has been done at the house, not necessarily electrical work, the problem is probably related to that. If as you say you haven got a clue where electrics are concerned then you are probably best to get an electrician to come and have a look at it for you. You say the switch for the lights hadn't tripped, what switched had tripped is there an RCD also protecting this circuit?

Doc H.

As the Doc says , have you had some work done that could have damaged the wiring .

The light that "blew" is probably where the problem is ,  sounds like they,ve shorted out and they are  all coming on in series ,as you say , at half power.

Get a sparks in. Our Scottish member is in Australia at the moment .
