Hi,

Ive got to change 2 light fittings for a friend tomorrow and want to do it properly and issue MWC. As when you join a scam they want to see all the previous certs issued?

Ive looked at the current fittings and its a right bodge. Chocolate blocks taped up pushed up into cladded ceiling. Im gonna replace these with wagos.

What tests do I need to carry out is it

R1+R2 at the fittings

IR - can I do L&NtoE to avoid having to take bulbs out etc

Zs

Theres no rcd present but as im not altering the circuit I dont need to fit one do I. Im changing like for like and its not in a special location. On the certs I have (NIC Green ones) it asks for RCD details etc. Do I put N/A

Thanks for any advice

Dont bother with the MWC

you may open a can of worms and spend too much time fixing it and then have to invoice your friend

Scams are not bothered with like for like replacement certs

I agree, if its like for like then my NICEIC assessor stated they didn't need a mwc for it, but he advised doing a Zs test and noting the result somewhere on a work sheet or the like

Definitely do a loop test minimum if its a metal fitting. I would not bother with mwc if its like for like.
