Will an RCBO not operate the same way as an RCD regardless of whether it is single pole or double pole and therefore the 1667 value be used??

You are correct, in that it will work the same way. What I believe Steps is referring to is the necessity to disconnect ALL live conductors on a TT install.

anyway, Im not sure of any other reason, but I wouldnt like to take the chance,

especially if you are using satans own version of earthing, (ie. TNCS Pray )
