sorry Admin to be off topic, just think this is a scam ,thought i'll share it with everyone.

just had my bill for a charge to this number 07079903903 that cost me

Irrelevant. They pay the roaming charges not you. Otherwise how could you be expected to know where the owner of every mobile number is at any one time?

Was the number left for you to ring on your voicemail by somebody you dont know. If you answer them they just make some excuse and hang up, but if not they leave a number to ring that connects to a premium number.My wife had something similar from someone claiming to know her. It seems to be quite a common scam.

Common type of scam is for them to hack into your phone through your bluetooth and get it ring some type of premium number they set up after a few days the number dissapears so it cant be traced.

Solution is not to leave bluetooth on when not using it.

070 numbers are a personnel number (similar charges to 0900 numbers) which can be setup as business contact numbers with out giving your personnel phone details.

EG - You can have one as your fax number and any received faxes are forwarded to you at any email address you it sent to when setting up the account also you can use it so it is an answer machine for your business etc

Another one for tracing phone numbers is http://www.whocallsme.com and if other people have had that number ringing them they normally leave comments to who it was.

spoke to ofcom, and their advice is to avoid calling any number that starts with 0707, as it could be a front for an 090 number that charges

I have my business mobile and have a different 07022 number.

This number is on my website and is given to sales people and folk like SKY who charge you to call them

My real customers are told to call the landline number on my site that diverts to my real mobile free of charge (to the client)
