Chat Notifications

At the top of the page where the chat option is, I've got a number 5 in a red box but when I click on chat it says oops something went wrong!

Any ideas why I seem to have 5 notifications in there but can't access chat?

On my profile it says I'm a a senior member and then it says group - bronze member.

What does this mean?
