Went to change something at ASDA this morning & get suitable dog food ( He,s a fussy sod)  and was reminded of lab experiments with rats or mice , being guided up & down channels for rewards ...only this was the human version .

Mr Walmart had all his lab assistants on duty , manning the cash receivers , people are only let out when they have filled their trollies to overflowing and parted with great wodges of cash .

The sight of humanity streaming up & down the aisles to the sound of pop groups churning out their annual pension topper upper songs was somewhat disconcerting .......and then there I was being swept along to the pet food aisle , back to the self service Daleks and  finally spat out of the door to search for the car .

Merry Christmas everybody. :innocent

I went shopping today.

To Travis Perkins.

There was one other customer in there, a plumber who lives up the road from us, so we had a bit of a blether.

Wild horses would not get me near a food shop again this year.

FFS it is only for one day!

Local Spar will,be open Xmas day morning at 0900 anyway!

I bravely did Asda veg shop,yesterday....no probs

Wife did other food shop, the other day ....all in freezer now

Town is absolutely. Rammed at present.

Business park where Morrisons, Maccy D, PC world, Dunelm mill, halfords etc are.......45 mins to get in park.....1 hour to get out!

Just....sitting sipping Merlot....IT begins

Also went to Travis Perkins today and I was the only one in there! Mind you... Have you seen their prices!!!! :slap
yes, ive seen their prices. usually cheaper at wickes, and then i get 10% off

also made the fatal mistake of going to morrisons today... only went for some lunch, stuck behind all the people with shopping baskets as full as though the apocalypse is due friday...fortunately no queue at the self serve daleks,

I still got to go out shopping later FFS!!

But I was buggered if I was going to drive 50 miles and get stuck in traffic just to save a few £££

Actually TP and Jewson seem to be having a price war between themselves, and TP were the cheapest quote of them all for my treatment plant.

Same company.... Usually even cheaper at fool station again same company. We have an account with TP I think the discount is 30% and that brings it to a more reasonable price but still many things can be had cheaper elsewhere.

I think it's a local demand thing otherwise they would be out of business pretty quick!

What ?  ...Travis Perkins , Jewson & Toolstation  are all the same ?    Are we looking at a cartel here ?

I was told that the contractors awarded the City property maintenance contract here, who always seem to shop at TP are also owned by them .

Where would I look to confirm that ?     I've forgotten their bloody name now , vans everywhere.
