It's designed to run with Ubuntu (Swahili for family) from the Linux OS people. It's a free download but I wouldn't recommend anybody using Ubuntu. A friend had it on her laptop, couldn't get on with it & reinstalled Vista. Can't say I blame her as it a very strange OS.What the hell does " Mythbuntu" mean, Lurchio. ? ?:| ? :|
Or until they stop issuing updates for it?im sticking with xp till i die :^O :coat
Mythbuntu is Myth TV and Ubuntu rolled into one. Myth TV is just PVR software, so you can do all that pause\rewind\record live TV stuff but I also have an extensive media library that resides on it as well so I just add movies and music to the box and they're all there ready to watch\listen to next time I turn it on. Takes some setting up though! What the hell does " Mythbuntu" mean, Lurchio. ? ?:| ? :|
TBF to Ubuntu and Linux in general, it does take some getting used to but depending what you're doing with it it can be pretty easy to use. Also depends what you're used to. I've been running Ubuntu on and off for a couple\few years and have had Mythbuntu on a box for 6 Months and it has taken some getting to work, but now it works well so I treated it to a 23" HD monitor yesterday. It's designed to run with Ubuntu (Swahili for family) from the Linux OS people. I am not overly keen on linux as its not a proper Unix OS but if I have to use one (on a server at least) then I will use Ubuntu over others due to their Longh Term Support and ease of upgrades. It's designed to run with Ubuntu (Swahili for family) from the Linux OS people.
