cm to sq meter conversion

Hello,

I am measuring my kitchen for a new tiling ... I have 350cm ( width ) and 374cm ( lenght ) how can i convert this to sq. meter ? a little help please

easiest way is to remember 100cm = 1m

so 350cm = 3.5m and 374cm = 3.74m

so 3.5 * 3.74 = 13.09m2

That's the easy way

The hard way you have to remember that a square meter is 100 X 100cm so 10,000cm2

so 350 * 374 = 130,900 cm2

divide by 10,000 = 13.09m2

You need to remember that square meter 100 X 100 and cubic meter 100 X 100 X 100!

i tells thee it's just easier to move the decimal point 2 places to the left before you multiply anything?!
