Just had a call from a large takeaway in local town asking me to do a job for them (im a regular there :^O )

They mentioned it to me a week back, but just called asking if i can fit it in on Wednesday.

Job is

6Kw frier, but its not on a wall, Cables coming from cellar under floor.

The cable is already there, 6mm T and E in place, about a 2m run from the CU which is in the cellar.

The manufacturer is saying they need a water proof fitting for this.

Any one got any advice on this? What fittings etc, ive not had any experience on commercial really

Any advice welcome :)

Well ive said all i know, as i wont know more till the day where il get there, check it out fly down for parts and back (its about 5 minute walk round corner lol)

All i know is its a

6kw Frier

Not on a wall, Its an island type.

They said to me other night its going to need a water proof switch and socket.

they will obviously need to be commando socket/plug

But its the "water proof" that threw me. Maybe they got it wrong and want it as a Splash proof maybe.

Il know more Wednesday when i see the job, Its getting delivered Weds about 3.30pm, so im calling in on my route home

i think they just mean IP rated , i.e camando..

I have done some worked in some kitchens and they use them... and they are also normally get full of fat if there not got a good IP Rating

the kebab will be on top of payment...
