Communications Systems In A Commercial Office Building

1) Would anyone be able to help me to determine what communication systems would need to be considered in a typical commercial office building?

2) and what would deter a designer from allowing all of these systems to share a single network?

so far i have for reasons not having them on one network is: differing protocols, voltages, lack of stability, lack of back up contingency
