connection with no earth

a friend of mine is leaving a rented property where one of the lights has the connection buried in the ceiling with only a flex with no earth coming from the ceiling which we had to chase

to get access to the cpc.to fit an earthed chancelier. now the landlord wants it returned to its previous state.

just wondered if we should just put a pendant fitting on the outside accessible , or put it back to the way it was.

probably easier to wire flex through ceiling into a pendant

Stick pendant up job done but switch off electric first we don't want you to get electrocuted.

make life easy for ur self, and install a pendant... life is hard enough... hehe

Generally when landlords say they want it like it was it means no worse than it was, not exactly like it was regardless of what was wrong with it, i.e. don;t leave no light or big holes in the walls etc...

Pendant wired properly in place of the chandelier would be the best way of achieveing this.
