Cooker connection

I have been asked to disconect an old cooker and connect a new one. The electrical installation won't be altered in any way. The problem is there is no rcd protection on the circuit and the bonding is in place but undersized. I have informed the owners about the upgrades which needs to be looked at but they did the usual thing and said they will wait a few months then get it done. Would you guys connect the cooker up? The job in my eyes is replace like for like due to the old cooker not working, the power is no different by the way

As you said you are not changing anything so why do you have to upgrade anything just saying

Is a cooker part of the fixed wiring? I believe the answer is no so no need for a MWC or making the installation compliant (unless its unsafe of course).

as said the cooker is an appliance so no need for testing/MWC but if there is anything obviously dangerous either sort it or tell them it needs sorting asap if its not an immediate danger.

I would have no problem with connecting a new cooker TBH assuming the circuit tests out OK . I'd guess the installation is to the 15th edit . if bonding is undersize . You can't force people to upgrade stuff like that . If its a Wylex board I might put a retrofit MCB in for the cooker.
