Hi All

Just a quickie.

customer says Cooker is tripping Rcd out when temp gets up to 160 degrees.

poppped in on way to a job and did a quick insulation L-N to earth when cold. 200+.

Element faulting on rise of temp perhaps. Hell of job to take back casing off for element continuity. Your thoughts please.

Macca

Two elements on cooker.

1 for grill - does not trip

1 fan assisted oven.

Sounds as if it is the element when it get to a certain temp the insulation is breaking done thus causing RCD to trip won't be fan as the fan normally starts running as soon as you switch oven on

Could be anything actually. The oven gets hot and so does everything else including the fan.

Depends on the oven, some have several.

had an identical job last week. oven trips RCD. IR test, all clear (>299). turn on, leave to heat for a few mins, IR down to 50m. leave another few mins down to <2. suggested new element, but due to age, she just got a new oven

i had one the other week

switched itself off after 5 mins

cooker switch breaking down

Sounds like the element breaking down under load - I went to a SMEG one the other day ! Hope this helps

More likely the element IMHO , breaking down as it gets hotter . A lot of the modern ovens are not too bad for access for replacing element .

They all seem to use standard shaped elements ,replacements readily available at the right place.

Thanks all for your comments.

Have found a replacement element for the Neff oven....

Macca.

Will update when sorted.
