Can anyone give me a brief discription of works to relocate a surface mounted cooker switch from one side of the room to the other.

Then installing a low level point.

No access to rewire from consumer unit so 60 amp connector block to extend circuit is only option.

Also any ideas on what i would charge.

Cheers

Under the regulations for safe isolation and switching you are allowed up to 2.5 mtrs.

If the room is not that large the switch could remain in its original position and a new cable could be run from this to the new location.

If not feasable then connecting the cable and extending the circuit is the only option.

Pricing?

Without knowledge of time required, cost of materials and condition of subtructure of the building it would be very difficult to give you a price to do the job.

There are simply too many variables.

Hi

Thanks for the info what page of the regs states the 2.5 meter length i cant find it.

Also moving on from that being realistic how much do most self employed electricians charge as a hour rate and a day rate. in general ( or how much do you charge.

Thanks

Just checked the regulation I mentioned and found it is a building regulation stating the distance as 2 mtrs and not as I stated 2.5.

Michaem, Price your materials , trade, then add 20%. Decide how much you should earn for a days work, divide by 8, take a guestimate at how long you think it will take you , in hours. Is it a days work, are you chasing in and re-plastering ? Have you got to return to connect the cooker ?

Probably only 32 A cicuit so not entirely true. Would be inclined to through crimp anyway, especially if JB is going to be fairly inaccessible.
