And talking about council tax :C I usually pay ours online at the beginning of the month .......I forgot this month ....just had a letter , court proceedings if not paid the full amount for the year in 14 days and I loose the right to pay by installments .

Lovely folk at B,ham City Council :| :(

I hear on the news they are going to need a lot of money to pay back claims to ex-female staff under equal pay law? So you had better pay up.

Yeah I heard that too . And that they have to make savings of £150m in the next year by closing loads of stuff down . Probably start with the libraries if I know them .

Think they'll be dropping the tax when everything is closed down??? . They built a load of neighbourhood offices all over the city , then closed them down .

They thought it a good idea to rename the University of Central England (UCE) and chose Birmingham City University , not to be confused with Birmingham University of course :innocent . , and have now decided to spend £25m on moving it 3 miles, next door to Aston University .

I just think ...............WHY :C Where does this £25m come from ???

Up here, if you are more than a week late you get the snotty letter.

The deal here is if you get TWO snotty letters for being late twice, then you loose your right to pay by installments and they will demand the whole lot in one lump.

Why don't we get similarly hard with unpaid invoices?

I pay mine by cheque. So that I can track it.

Just hope that if the cheque book is to be

phased out, some other similar method will

be available. I cannot get to their offices

in working hours.
