Can anyone give me some advise on a nice looking Consumer Unit for my own self build project? I would prefer a flush mountable one with a metal back box if possible and it needs to accomodate a 35mm feed. Thanks.

Welcome to the forum. Mk do flush mounted ones and I am certain Hager do too. Why not ask in a wholesalers they could advise who does what.

I'm sure they will all accommodate a 35mm set of tails with some careful dressing but what sort of cables are these 35mm ones, standard 6181 tails or SWA, or other?

Short back and sides? lol ... haircut? ROTFWL

35mm SWA as new build is being feed from meter box on stable block (didn't want to pay YEDL to move it again). Put 35mm in to allow for volt drop as submain is approx. 50 metres from meter box.

You will need a switchfuse meter end and if main fuse is 100 amp you will need 80 amp fuse in switchfuse so that that will go before main fuse if there is a fault. You may be able to get away with 25mm swa if you have 80 amp fuse what route is cable taking.
