As for the loft light, if you're using class 2 fittings, you're not making it any less safe, so I can't see a problem here, and you're going to be rewiring it soon anyway so no bother there. Same with the sockets, 20 A breaker covers it just to be sure. Can't answer on the immersion one,(i'm not that old!) but that seems a bit suspect to me, but if you're incorporating the immersion circuit into the new board, then again no problem here.

is the immersion be on eco7 or maybe used to be

raise it all up the wall to just under the socket, as said before mount a piece of plywood off the wall on some battens and fix cu to this. A new wylex 9 way board (with 1 80a RCD) is approx 290mm wide but a bit taller than your existing 6 way. Use joint box to extend any cables that need it and bring all cables in the back of board nice and neatly.
So can you have one RCD in the new green book certainly couldn't in the red one.

does it matter that i installed the garage c/u on the ceiling with a tube of silicon as i hadent got any rusty old screws available at the time :slap
Yes absolutley, why not? So does this mean when the lights trip that customer has to stumble around the dark garage to find the stepladder to reach the CU to find the mcb to flick the power back on? So then they ask you to come back and move the CU. Making one job into two. Sensible thinking.

Ah I see, So you charge them for callout everytime the dodgy lights you put in trip the mcb as they can't get to it. Seems like a good idea. Well, its one way to beat the recession

no its the supply to my cctv and bedroom ;)
You must have a lot of power hungry appliances in your bedroom then (no I don't mean the wife!) if you need a separate board for it!

well it does the folowing boiler supply, cctv, alarm system, outside lighting, pond, shed/greenhouse, bathroom towelrad, bathroom lights, kitchen lights, computer sockets, internet sockets x2, kitchen lights, study/loft lghts

and the second c/u in the hallway does outside sockets x3, upstairs sockets, downstairs sockets, kitchen sockets, cooker, outside lights, downstairs lights, upstairs lights, shower, garage sockets/porch sockets

ps the c/u in garage was a joke aout being on the ceiling its mounted on the wall ;)

OT: Badger I like the new Avatar - Are you and KME doing some sort of competition ?
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

its rubbish,

its like an aston villa supporter or something like that.!

BTW badger,

its not really a garage CU is it.? ;)

and,,,,,,,,,,,

is Mrs Badger really that power hungry?!!!!!

:innocent

You didn't (and still don't) need to have any RCD's (61008) if you use RCBO's where required. ; \
