Hi guys

this install is overhead supply, TT with an voltage operated leakage breaker, the rod looks to be an old copper pipe and ra is around 600 ohms.

new cu fitted but i am struggling to get a rod in as there is a lot of concreate and i cant get one in a suitable place with a decent reading. this is the cut out, the cable is the gas water bonding done by a while back by a plumber.

as its over head, TT, and no pme lables am i right in thinking the dno will have to come out to see if it is pme?

thanks

a suitable place would be the place you get a good reading.

anywhere with a high reading is unsuitable.

got know were with them mate just went round in circles

i think thats looking that way, i was going to rod it like was posted on here by noz or m107 with the rod knocked in next to the building with a wall mounted enclosure but i just hit the foundations

Well its usually better to get away from the footings if possible . If there,s concrete can you drill through with the SDS and try one there . What about wiring out to the garden or flower bed , or isn't there one ?

I hate bloody rods ( Sorry Stepps) In areas of Sutton Coldfield I've had problems with the type of ground , whack a 1000 rods in and still no reading.

If its a TT the plumbers earth connection is wrong and should be relocated
sorted that one mate

What is the ground like ie chalk, clay etc?
clay i think mate

B-)fat rods,

i will prob get a good reading if i could drive it in more than 500m but i dont think i will be able to that close to the house,

got a meter width of concrete around the house ( full of cracks though] :) )

If I were you Tom , I'd kango a channel out of the concrete , bit of PVC conduit , screed it back over then get your rod in some decent ground away from the made-up ground by the house.

Photograph it and get a prize from Steps . ( Whose middle name is actually Rodney)
