mmm. One of my neighbours [a dentist with lots of money] says his in ear Bose ones are amazing and I was considering splashing out. His Bose Ipod docking station does give amazing sound from such a small device.

I just don't get on with in ear earphones and they are not the sort of thing you want to share with a neighbour - so never tried them.

I will mull it over a bit longer, but if I don't make my mind up soon my Christmas money will have disappeared!

Patch check out the Gadget Shows web site they did a TOP 5 although they did not appear to test any Sennheisers, Bose at

They gave it to me :slap On the agenda now is a mini Zeppelin for upstairs :pray
You must have a massive house to fit one or two of these in, I hope you fill them with Helium!

Heartily recommend Sennheiser. Not too expensive and stonking sound. Did a little sound engineering a few years back (seems to be a running theme) and they were always up to the task.

Not mad keen on Bose, Those things loooove their mid-tones.

Used to be a bit of a running joke... No High's, No Low's, Its Bose.

To conclude the thread [well I did start it!] I bought the Bose ones. TBH think my mind was made up when I started the thread. No-one was convincing enough to make me do otherwise. I have been very impressed with them, although would have liked an inline volume control.

So what is your review of the BOSE ones ?
Gone for the traditional ear cups rather than in or on ear. Sound is very good and they are very comfortable. Totally frivolous spending, but the bits of christmas money vanish into general funds otherwise. This way I have something nice, practical that I can hopefully keep.

I'm pleased with them.

Just wanted to add to this (just incase anyone reads it for advise) i have had 2 pairs of the bose in ear ones

nice and comfy but to be honest they broke way to easily and quality wise were only really equivalent to a 30 quid pair ....just paying for the name and comfort (have a 30 quid set of Sennheiser that sound just as good......infact probably better)

not tried the over ears so cant coment on them

going to get an over the ear pair now as i cant stand the annoying noise if you so much as tap the cord :)
