Everytime I click on my Internet Desktop Shortcut, I get a list to choose from in order for me to open it up.

It never used to do this - so why is it doing it now?

As shown in the attatchment below.

Thanks in advance for your input. :D

PS. I have tried selecting the "Always Use..." box at the bottom, but that doesn't work.

Try making a new short cut, if that works, delete the old one.

You haven't upgraded to IE 8 have you?

Have you got a different browser set as your default (firefox?) and an internet explorer link to google?
i don't think so Patch?!

I did try the New shortcut, but that was the same. I still have IE 7. I think?!

Thanks for your replies.

Looks as if the registry entry for the object linking your shortcuts to the browser.exe might be SNAFU, what if you drill down through the dir to click on IE.exe does that work normally?

Which system are you using. XP or Vista?

Can you go to the default programs page, and set IE7 as your default browser?

Remove the shortcut, make google the default homepage of IE and Firefox..

:p

OR go into a Folder, view file types and choose the correct association to open that type of file..

Applaud Smiley

They are set up as the homepage of IE and FF.

FF opens as it should. It is only the IE that don't. :(

On reflection:

You've changed something (honestly), you have..

Your PC is no longer sure what to do with this... :_|

Delete it...............................

As for IE, you have the option to make this appear on your Desktop, via the settings option (Right click, over the desktop).

:)

Where is the IE.exe? I cannot see it?
Sorry should have used the full name

C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplorer.exe

you can also just type iexplorer from the RUN icon in the START button window
