Sorry should have used the full nameC:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplorer.exe

you can also just type iexplorer from the RUN icon in the START button window
Windows cannot find iexplorer.

Didn't work Robo. :(
Well if iexplore.exe will not launch and you say you have re-installed it, time to try either Firefox (more secure than IE) or Google's Chrome

I just typed in iexplorer.exe and it came up as "Windows Internet Explorer 8: Home page".

I remember installing IE8, but didn't like it (was a while ago though - and some time before my PC went like this). So I reverted back to my IE7. (un-installed).

Are your "automatic updates set as ON"?

one of our PC's recently automatically updated to IE8...

(within the past month or so?, a PC still running XP pro!)

could you have been re-updated to IE8? ?:|

Possibly an easier solution is to use 'System Restore' (assuming it is set to on) to a point (time) before you installed IE8, in most cases MS s/w will create restore points just before any new update is applied

Go to windows update, look at the history, should tell you when IE8 was last installed. If it was installed recently, remove it from your computer. Go back to windows update, search for updates and then hide the IE8 update.
