Hi Apache,

Ruby, now 4 months old, is wandering around snorting and sneezing a lot, interspersed with the odd bout of coughing. Now she seems well enough in her own right, charging around like all good jack russells should, which usually causes a bout of sneezing but then seems to clear up. Not seeing any discharge from nose or anything. So wasn't sure if she has a cold / has got something stuck where it shouldn't be, or whether teething is causing these symptons (back teeth are coming through)? She has also just had her last parvo virus jab, and vet seemed to think she was healthy enough, but that was of course the day before she started sneezing significantly. Your opinion please Apache.

Binky - really sorry, I seem to have overlooked your thread. I have been out both Thursday and Friday night so not had as much time on here.

Erm there are strains of the influenza virus that can affect dogs, although they have different surface proteins to those in people and you shouldn't be able to share them!

If the puppy is well and there is no discharge or just a little clear snot I wouldn't worry. They can get things like foreign bodies up their nose [grass is a favourite]. So if the discharge persists [>7days], the pup is off colour, the nasal discharge smells bad or you are worried pop him along to the vets!

How is he now 2 days later?

[sorry again for the delay, if you don't get a prompt reply feel free to PM me to hurry me along, I get the email on my phone]

No probs Apache. Ruby seems to have fully recovered now. Not convinced she didn't have some fluff stuck in throat, but either way all is back to normal. See photo below
