Been so long since i've used windows but I do remember yahoo clogging my computer up with their rubbish :yellow card

It goes something like this..... click start then run then type in msconfig this should bring up a box with 4? tabs one of which is startup click that and unselect any yahoo thingies there then restart :)

Just a warning don't unselect anything that you are unsure of only unselect things like yahoo / msn ect

more on msconfig here

As for startup page on browser goto settings > homepage and change it to http://talk.electricianforum.co.uk/ or http://www.google.co.uk :)

Picture of your missus?
I wish .

Sister?

Nanna!

The girl next door?

Your first love!

Ah! The mistress?

Ok I give up

Now if you'd said she wore high heals then I'd of gone for Kerching!
naw  Keep 'em coming ,.....Stepps has it sussed I believe :innocent

Stepps , I got the FF home page back ,  not the one the Missus liked , news , show biz etc  plus links to email etc .    That has been elbowed out by Yahoo and I can't find it or recreate it .    Never mind .

deke, have a look through your history as to the last time you had it up,

then go there, and do the same sort of thing to 'make this page my homepage' or whatever it says.

Checked that out Stepps , thanks ,  only history I can find  is from today & yesterday.

Just had a good delve around , can't think of a way of finding it  TBH  .

I can see the FF customise choices  but theres 180.000 of the bloody things .

STEPPS,  Just had a thought , I think that home page was on our laptop , I could look later .  Is there a way of  getting it from there to office PC  ?

Carry it  Oh very droll Sharpie  ;)

Thing is, I'd  to get back our FF homepage  that Yahoo shoved out and took over , never to be found again .

I've restored the FF home page but we had a customised version with links , news items etc , email  and BT have imposed all their stuff on here , even changed what the FF icon does on desktop , instead of opening the aformentioned page it opens Yahoo .

If that page still opens on the laptop , would there be an address ....URL...whatever, to identify it , that I could type in on this puter and conjour it up again ?

Deke,

easiest way IMO is to open it on your lappie,

copy and paste the address bar and send it to yourself as an email,

open the email on the other computer,

click the link

et voila

:D

Naw    Bloody Yahoo has taken over the lappie too ........its gone from there .

Click on the FF icon that used to open the page and Yahoo opens ,  it says BT Yahoo has decided to change the way you access your emails by logging in with a password  etc  etc  .

They shouldn't be changing people's PCs without permission  IMHO  :C     Doubtless it spies on us all along with Google and all the other government data collecting agencies.

I don't know why you have lost your hotmail Deke, because I still have mine, it is just slightly different looking, the hotmail email is still there.

You can still use firefox as you did, but the interface for BT/Yahoo or whatever email is their end and you can't change that.

They can't make any changes your end without your permission, that is illegal.

I suspect you selected standard/quick/default install or whatever, which then gives them carte blanche to make any changes.

I ALWAYS select custom install and read the boxes, and select what changes I want to allow.

You can go into FF & change the history to a greater value if needed.

Seriously there is a yahoo bt program running in the background doing all this for you msconfig is the way forward :)

Also try re-installing FF from fresh or try chrome :)

I have access to my Hotmail back now Sidey ,   but the same happened with that , I had an icon on Desktop  " Evans Elect Hotmail"   took me straight there.   This Outlook lot took over Hotmail .... I click icon and get  " this cannot be found"  or some crap .   Plus I'd forgotten what the hell they were called , I think someone pointed it out , probably you , so I changed the icon to "Outlook"  .

Because it had changed , I was doing a Search for Hotmail and getting nothing but heartache.

Thanks    ...I see Stepps is pushiing his favourite Linux  :innocent

I recently logged into my BT account and then had frigging Yahoo take over, just went to settings and change default back to google. It's back to normal now.
If I  saw that option I'm  not sure what might dissapear .  :C

I just fired a complaint off to BT on their site , do no good but made me feel better .

I'd guess if my cousin was here instead of moving to a Greek Island  he'd probably sort it PDQ  .

My complaint to BT has resulted in a semi -auto email aplogising and saying they have had other complaints along these lines .

Then a phone call to give us a free upgrade to BT infinity , free modem, free install .
