Todays job was to extend existing ring cct to new bedroom extension--4 sockets.

Quick check on random socket gave Zs of 0.62 ohms.

Got all cables in place and decided to extend from different socket-same ring cct.

Opened up socket to make sure it wasn't a spur and done end to end with the following results

r1-r1 = 1.86

rn-rn = 1.92

r2-r2 = 3.40

Zs = 1.46 measured

Opened up cu and got same end to end results.

Back to first socket and all testing ok.(can't remember the results)

Cct is on 30A type 2 mcb so Zs is way over max. permissible.

Customer has had 3 extensions to house and I believe there's been some incorrect meddling with the ring cct.

Decided to run new cable and make 15A radial.

Customer advised and awaiting as to wether he wants me to investigate.
