morning all,

i have a job on and its a tt, now the 16mm earth cable goes to the meter box outside and then down to the spike, but some idiot has use a connector block to join 4mm to the 16mm to make it long enough, can i put a earth block in to the meter box? i know its supposed to be unbroken but its a tudor black and white house and a right pig to get a new cable to the cu.

second question is, if puting a second cu outside next to the meter to supply out buildings do i need to run a earth from the first cu? or can i run a second straight from the rod?

thanks

If you want to relocate the MET to the meter box then thats ok but it will then be the MET so all bonding will need to go there.

You would be better crimping if its not long enough.

As for CU, some DNO's seem to think that its their property so can dictate what goes into the meter cupboard so you may want to avoid that.
