Been having some trouble selling stuff on ebay...

I sold an item and the buyer didn't pay, I waited a week and still no monies so I opened an unpaid item dispute thingy still nothing, the buyer has dropped off the face of the earth, numerous messages etc, nope, nothing...

I tried to cancel the order and now I'm stuck in limbo as ebay are trying to contact the buyer...

Of course they have taken their fees....

:(

What to do??? I feel like never using eBay again and dodging the gas mask sluts on Craigslist Or trying not to get robbed off gumtree??

lame ebay.

lame.

Ebay sound like Checkatrade - a single compliant against a tradesman does not amount to a compliant! You need 2 or more complaints!

What gets me is that some ebay sellers say "no negative feedback" on their confirmation emails........

You WILL get you fees back eventually but the "process" has to take it's course and allow time for the buyer to pay.

I have given up selling on ebay, as an auction site it is a shaddow of it's former self and it's trying to be too much of a market place instead, and it heavilly favours the buyer. The final straw for me was when I sold a television "for parts or not working" with a clear description of the fault. Then the buyer complained it ws faulty, so he sent it back, and I refunded the price he paid, but no that wasn't good enough, and he raised a dispute and ebay found in the buyers favour and I was charged for his return postage. So not only did I not sell it, I paid postage both ways. That was the final straw.

Well at least your not out of pocket and still have the goods then, I don't sell to anyone with zero feedback, isnt there a thing you can tick to stop zero feedback members buying from you (or used to be, haven't sold on there for a long time, don't need to now as offload all my rubbish to monkey :slap  )

He is if ebay have taken their fees.....

yeah they got their fee's, bastards.

Ticking a box usually costs more money.

I sold quite a bit in the past but my ex mrs f'ed up my eBay account buying stuff and not paying for it!

been a buyer ever since, needed to get rid of some stuff as were having a clear out and haven't had any problems with other buyers :C

perhaps I could interest @monkey in a sub ohm device or some tannoy active monitors?

:)

The other ebay "Scam" to watch out for is NEVER accept paypal payment for an item that the buyer collects in person. An unscrupulous buyer can then claim he has not received it, and if you cannot produce proof of delivery he will get his money back.

And unless it has changed Proof of Delivery is only accepted by ebay IF it is from an approved carrier ie Royal,Mail, XDP, DPD, Yodel, etc

getting the buyer to sign a piece of paper does not count

On the rare occasions I buy or sell on ebay cash for payment is my preferred financial transaction. At least this was you are not robbed by paypal as well!
