Hi,

On an EIC where it says 'Next Inspection: I recommend this installation is inspected and tested after an interval not more than .......... Years ....Months.'

This only relates to the new work you have just completed and is nothing to do with the existing installation?

Also is 10 Years is the norm for new circuits indoors?

Thanks

M4tty,

As above, however, as you are the designer & installer then you can decide!

IF the premises was a tip and showed evidence of "incompetent" mods DIY bashing etc. etc. then you would be entitled to put 1 day, month, year etc.

In your own home you could legitimately put 50 years or change of occupancy as long as you took "charge" of the install.

Matty

There is a thread where that this was discussed

cu change yes

new db yes

single circuit no

this relates to the 'next inspection label on the cu

of course why would you advise a next inspection on something you have not tested ?????

if only for say a shower circuit,

then I put this on the test label,

SHOWER CIRCUIT ONLY

for example.

in general for a normal domestic I put 5 years down, unless a complete rewire or new installation.

If it's a new domestic circuit then I put 10 years, but I do state "SHOWER CIRCUIT ONLY" on label (as Steps said)

however if it's for an addition to an existing circuit then I at most put 5 years, possibly even less depending on the general condition of the installation!
