Electric hook up points

Just wondering if any of u have installed an electric Hook up for an electric car??

Just seen it speced on a job and wondered wat it involved... I do not know the power need ect just interested to know

whats the spec of the hook up point that has been spec'd ?

Ive only done one, and the pillar was spec'd,

you need them to tell you what pillar they are installing, it could be a single, dual, or maybe even more, more points = more power.

So what did u do? Cable size ect? How much power did yours need? Did u instal 2 roto isolators ect?

nope, I followed the spec,

16A radial to the post, that was it, oh, I did install an isolator inside the garage though, the post was outside.

16aradial would of thought a bigger supply was needed than that lol. How long was your run?

jeez, glow, most of them stoopid little cars and vans come with a lead that has a 13A plug on the end.

a standard EV post only has commando sockets on it,

you need to get a spec for what they want,

thats like me asking you to come and wire my house, not telling you how many sockets or lights I need, and expecting you to do a good job,

Glow, just remember, when rewiring Steps house, not to install the earthing on a TNCS or TNS system

yes NOZ, according to the sticker they put on that I posted back to them,

but yes, I am actually on a localised PME system, and Im certain of that

My first house was PME,,, proper

I lifted a floor board near the supply and thought WTF is this rod for.. That was in 1995, I didn't get into sparking until 2004
