I've been to look at a job today whereby 3 heaters will need to be moved to accomodate some building work.

Currenty these heaters are fed from cables which are buried in a concrete floor. I'm not sure what the correct name for this cable is? although I have seen it before. Basically the cable is embedded in it's own orange capping-like protection.

What I'm after is suggestions as to the best way to join this cable to new cable (I'm thinking T&E in PVC conduit).

Until it's all ripped out I don't know for sure, but there's a chance that the connection and it's enclosure may itself need to be buried in the floor unless I can dig the cable out back to a wall and do it there.

Thanks for any help.

Do you mean the pre-wired stuff , Anaconda was one make , very tough outer flexible conduit with , say 3 x 2.5 inside. ? Was supposed to be rewirable.

To be honest I don't fancy a joint in a concrete floor . I suppose crimp lugs and shrink sleeve would do it but it still needs an outer cover IMO then you could change to conduit and X grade .

Can you not rewire it by other methods , sounds like an awkward job .
